Maria Rosaria Boccia has been served a summons by the Pisa prosecutor’s office. Boccia, an entrepreneur from Pompeii, is under investigation for fraud, with the inquiry led by the Guardia di Finanza.
Boccia’s woes are seemingly never-ending. Whilst still being investigated for threats and personal injury against the former Culture Minister, Gennaro Sangiuliano, she is now being investigated for fraud in Pisa.
According to Chief Prosecutor Teresa Angela Camelio, the investigation focuses on Boccia’s “alleged participation in a business project concerning a property in 2021” in Pisa province. The summons requires Boccia to appear for questioning regarding the financial nature of the case. Camelio stressed that the proceedings are still in the preliminary phase, and Boccia “benefits from the presumption of innocence until a final sentence is issued.”
The Pisa investigation is being kept confidential and is entirely separate from other legal cases involving both Boccia and Sangiuliano. In Rome, the 41-year-old entrepreneur is under investigation for violence, threats, and personal injury following a complaint filed by Sangiuliano after their scandal became public.
Sangiuliano himself is also under investigation in Rome, facing charges of embezzlement and disclosure of official secrets. These alleged crimes are linked to the time of his professional and personal relationship with Boccia, which has drawn significant public and legal scrutiny.
