Green Pass Rules: The boy’s father has shared custody of his son. The child turned 12 the day before he was due back with his mother in Milan.

The young boy was prevented from returning home to his mother in Milan because he turned 12 the day before his flight and was not vaccinated, Ansa reported.

His father, 46, of Noto, in the Syracusan area denounced the inflexibility of the Green Pass rules.

“Victim of ignorance”

“I am the victim of an ignorance that is rampant, and of the lack of flexibility on the part of some” explained the father.

Marcello is separated from his wife, who lives in Milan. The two have a son, who lives with his mother but is in shared custody. The judge established the holiday periods that the couple respects for the sake of the child. “From 3rd to 9th January my son was in Sicily with me”, said Marcello.

“On the 9th the child turned 12 years old, with the return flight to Milan booked the next day. When we arrived at the airport on January 10th, I showed the documents and the negative result of the molecular swab but the Sac employee (the management company of the airport) told me he could not board.”

“The dpcm (council of ministers decree), which entered into force that day, authorises boarding only to vaccinated twelve-year-olds. I pointed out that the swab was negative, the child had to go back to school but above all that there is a judge’s sentence that establishes the days in which my child can stay with me and that I cannot violate in order not to have criminal consequences.”

The child was immediately vaccinated, but the certification can only be obtained after 15 days. “Even if he is happy to be with me and his grandparents, he is losing school days because of ignorance”.
