On Tuesday, a Catholic parish nursery school in northern Italy dismissed a teacher for her activity on the adult content platform OnlyFans, local media reported on Wednesday.
Elena Maraga, 29, had been teaching at a school near Treviso in the Veneto region for five years. She was suspended without pay last month after refusing to leave the platform, where she uploads self-produced content. Trade unions had previously resisted attempts to have her dismissed, and some parents had defended her, saying her private life was unrelated to her teaching role.
However, the school has now officially terminated her contract “for just cause with immediate effect.” Management cited a clash between Maraga’s use of the adult site and the Catholic ethos that underpins the school’s educational direction.
The decision was reportedly accelerated by the teacher’s recent media appearances, where she expressed no shame about her content and said she felt free to show her body. According to the school, these public statements “irreparably damaged the element of trust,” making it impossible to continue the working relationship.
Maraga has yet to confirm whether she will challenge the dismissal, but commented: “An injustice has been committed against me.”
