Italy claims its first Paralympics medals in Paris

Italy got its first medals at the Paralympics in Paris. Lorenzo Bernard and his pilot won bronze in the 4,000m cycling pursuit. Italy’s first day went swimmingly in the pool with eight medals.

The Italian men’s track cycling team lost their title and world record to the Australians in the heats of the men’s pursuit. Italy have also claimed a further two bronze medals.

Paralympic golds for Italy

Italy won its first two golds at the Tokyo Paralympics Wednesday, both in the pool. Carlotta Gilli won the S13 100m butterfly and Francesco Bocciardo won the S5 200m freestyle.
