The third instalment of Italy’s post-COVID EU-funded National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) will be disbursed soon, on time, a European Commission spokesperson said Tuesday.
Italy is aiming to avoid delays to the implementation of its post-COVID EU-funded National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) with revisions to the plan, the EU said Tuesday.
“Regarding the reference to the ‘risk of delay’ in today’s Annual Report on the Recovery Resilience Facility, this phrase was already included in the July country-specific recommendations to Italy and several other countries,” said an EU Commission spokesperson. They were commenting on the progress of the Italian NRRP, underlining “the close and fruitful work” with Rome.
“Today’s adoption by the Council of the amendments to the fourth payment request and the upcoming general revision of the plan are indeed aimed at avoiding the risk of delays”.
“We welcome today’s approval by the Council of the targeted amendments to Italy’s fourth payment request,” he said. “We now look forward to receiving Italy’s fourth payment request.
“The Commission will soon take the final decision on the disbursement of the third instalment through a committee procedure”.
“So far, Italy has respected the timetable of the plan,” added the spokesperson of the European executive.
