Alleged ‘Ndrangheta boss arrested on Spain’s Costa del Sol

An alleged boss of the Calabrian ‘Ndrangheta mafia was arrested as he went on his morning cycle ride in Fuengirola on Spain’s Costa del Sol.

Plain clothes Policia Nacional officers arrested the man as he cycled away from his house in Fuengirola on Friday morning. The police state he initially put up great resistance.

The man is alleged to be one of the bosses of the infamous ‘Ndrangheta mafia who control most of Europe’s cocaine traffic. He has been on the run from Italian authorities since 2015.

Wanted for drug trafficking and corruption

Arrest warrants are out on him for drug trafficking, money laundering, document forgery and corruption.

Policia Nacional say the man not only out up resistance but offered false Italian identity papers as well.

The operation can be linked to the seizure of 800kg of cocaine in Italy.
