Canadian rock star and photographer Bryan Adams will shoot the 2022 Pirelli calendar, the Italian tyre maker announced.
The 2021 Pirelli calendar was suspended due to the Covid pandemic. However, Bryan Adams will start shooting next year’s edition in the coming weeks.
Adams proud to be chosen
Bryan Adams is best known for songs like “Summer of ’69”, “Heaven” and chart-topping ballad “(Everything I Do) I Do It for You”, soundtrack of 1991 film “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves”.
As a photographer, he has captured the images of celebrities including rocker Mick Jagger and Britain’s Queen Elizabeth. Adams has also published several books of photographs including one on injured British soldiers: Wounded: The Legacy of War, Photographs by Bryan Adams.
On his Twitter page, Adams said further details would be announced in coming months.
“I’m proud to have been chosen as the photographer of the Pirelli Calendar 2022. Combining photography and music for ‘The Cal’ is very exciting and it will of course feature some extraordinary people,” Adams said in a statement.
Pirelli calendar
First published in the 1960s, the tyre manufacturer’s calendar has a limited run. It is usually gifted to the company’s clients. The calendar was famous for its scantily-dressed models but has moved to more artistic themes in recent years. Models often include various celebrities.
