Winning Italy’s top trophy is no guarantee of job security as Antonio Conte parts company with Inter Milan. He leaves just days after the celebration of Inter’s Serie A title.
Inter Milan’s coach reportedly left the club after the Chinese owners said they wanted to cut back on spending on players. This sparked anger among the club’s fans and seemingly did not sit well with Conte either.
Inter’s statement on Conte
“FC Internazionale Milano can confirm that an agreement has been reached with Antonio Conte for the termination of his contract by mutual consent,” Inter said in a statement.
“The club would like to thank Antonio for the extraordinary work that he has done, culminating in Inter’s 19th top-flight title. Antonio Conte will forever remain a part of our Club’s history”.
Inzaghi remains at Lazio
Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi has renewed his contract with the Rome club for another three years.
The former Lazio player, Inzaghi was reportedly close to leaving the club, after a series of delays in agreeing to a new deal.
Gennaro Gattuso had been linked to Lazio but is now taking over at Fiorentina after leaving Napoli.
