Amerigo Vespucci and Villaggio Italia in Saudi Arabia

Business News

The historic Italian Navy training vessel Amerigo Vespucci and the Villaggio Italia, a multi-year travelling exhibition of Made in Italy excellence, are making a landmark stop in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from 27 to 31 January.

This marks the first visit to Saudi Arabia in the Vespucci’s 93-year history.

The initiative, known as the Vespucci World Tour – Villaggio Italia, highlights Italy’s rich culture, history, innovation, gastronomy, science, research, technology, and industry. The travelling expo, promoted by Defence Minister Guido Crosetto and supported by 12 government ministries and the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, aims to showcase the best of Italy while fostering international partnerships.

Hosted at the Jeddah Yacht Club & Marina, this eighth and final Villaggio Italia stop before the tour enters the Mediterranean celebrates the deep ties between Italy and Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia, a strategic partner for Italian foreign policy and businesses, is home to a significant Italian expatriate community whose contributions strengthen collaboration in key sectors.

The Villaggio Italia offers an immersive experience where visitors can explore Italy’s treasures, from art and innovation to cuisine and design. Combining the traditional role of Amerigo Vespucci in Naval Diplomacy and training with the promotion of Italian excellence, the initiative underscores Italy’s global appeal and commitment to fostering meaningful international relationships.
