Nordio says law needs to change as Garlasco case highlights flaws

Italian Justice Minister Carlo Nordio said the long-running Garlasco murder case highlighted flaws in Italy’s legal system. Alberto Stasi was convicted at a third trial despite previously being acquitted twice and with no new evidence presented. Prosecutors are considering that a new suspect stand trial.

Garlasco Case: Fingerprint 33 excluded from investigation

The judge overseeing the Garlasco murder inquiry has ruled that “fingerprint 33” will not be included in the ongoing evidentiary hearing. The print, found on a wall inside the Poggi home, had previously been linked by investigators to Andrea Sempio, who is under fresh investigation for the 2007 murder of Chiara Poggi.
