Italy announced early Monday that two of its citizens detained for over a year in Venezuela have been freed. The aid worker, and businessman are now en route home after a prolonged diplomatic effort.

Alberto Trentini, a young NGO worker from Venice who has been detained in Venezuela since November, is in good health. This according to “conclusive evidence” cited by qualified sources, ANSA reported on Thursday.
