From Monday 24th May, all of Italy will be a yellow zone. The regions of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Molise and Sardinia will be white zones from 1st June.
The regional data validated by the higher health institute shows a downward curve of the epidemic. An ordinance from the ministry of health put the seal on the new “map”.
Minister Speranza announced the signing of the new provision, and so from Monday the 24th, Italy enters the lowest risk range. This allows activities to restart.
Yellow Zone for all of Italy
Today all of Italy is in the yellow zone. This is the result of the measures taken so far; the correct behaviour of the vast majority of people, and the vaccination campaign. ” We continue on this path with confidence, prudence and gradualness” says the Minister of Health Roberto Speranza.
As early as June 1st, three regions (Friuli Venezia Giulia, Molise and Sardinia) will become white zones where there are no mask and distance regulations.
Monitoring
The Technical Scientific Committee will have to validate the protocols, in particular that of receptions after (civil and religious) weddings, communions and confirmations. Then it will give the green light to other sectors such as restaurants and gyms, that will restart in the coming days.
The White Zone
On the 7th June it will be the turn of Abruzzo, Veneto and Liguria. From 14th June, Lombardy, Lazio and Umbria could also enter the white zone, provided on 28th May they have fewer than 50 cases per 100,000 (at the moment all three regions oscillate between 90 and 70 cases).
The indicators from the ministry of health also show a decrease in the incidences of new cases per 100 inhabitants. As a result, the estimates ensure that, if there is no surge due to variations, in mid-June, Italy could be predominantly a white zone.
