Carabinieri investigating workplace accident
Carabinieri police are investigating to establish what happened.
The woman worked in a company named Bombonette, in via Panaria in Camposanto. The company specialises in the processing of paper and packaging for confectionery.
The union Cisl sent their condolences. The union also voiced their concern over the numerous accidents involving workers.
“It will be the responsibility of the competent bodies to ascertain the causes and responsibilities of the event. Meanwhile, we can only underline with concern the increasingly frequent involvement in accidents of workers struggling with industrial machinery that have gears in motion.”
Spate of workplace deaths in recent month
Italy has suffered a spate of workplace deaths in recent months.
These include a similar one to Tuesday’s, that of Luana D’Orazio, snagged by the gears of a textile machine. Crushed to death at a plant at Oste di Montemurlo near Prato in May, she left behind a five-year-old son.
